Description

Description

The project aims to construct, operate and maintain a 20 MW photovoltaic power generation plant in Bokhol commune, in the North of Senegal. The project components are: (1) Construction of a 20 MW solar plant; (2) Construction of a 75 m transmission line; (3) Procurement and installation of necessary equipment; and (4) Project management. With annual production of at least 34 GWh, the Bokhol solar power plant will help to connect 160,000 new consumers to the national grid. The project is jointly developed by GreenWish and SENERGY 2, through a special purpose vehicle. Vinci Energies led the EPC process. Senegal’s national electric company, SENELEC, will offtake the electricity produced by Bokhol under a 20-year power purchase agreement. The $29 million project is backed by the Senegalese state, with financing through Britain and Norway via their joint development investment vehicle Green Africa Power. The project is funded by Green Africa Power (GAP), which provides $22.3 million in term loan and $6.95 million of sponsor's equity. The contract was awarded following a wide invitation to bid published by the Government in 2012 for the promotion of renewable energies. Financial closure was achieved in September, 21 2016. The project is planned to be refinanced with long-term senior debt at a later date. https://ijglobal.com/data/transaction/36685/bokhol-solar-pv-plant-20mw http://www.greenwishpartners.com/portfolio/senergy-2-solar-pv-farm/
