Description
Description | The concession agreement includes the operation of three airports in Bolivia which combined handle 80% of the airports traffic (air-side and land-side operations, maintenance and management; expansion of passenger terminals, which will cost approximately US$ 100 million). The project company is headed by Airport Group International, whose shares are distributed as follows: Lockheed Air Terminal - 30%; Soros Capital L.P. - 30%; GE Capital - 30%; remaining shares are held by DFS Group Ltd., SunAmerica and United Infrastructure Co. (joint venture of Bechtel and Kiewit). The expected revenues are US$ 20 million per year (20.8% will be held by the government as a lease fee). In February 2013, the government unilaterally cancelled the concession contract on the grounds that the private sponsors failed to undertake the investment committed to the facilities. |
