Description | In April 2016, the Brazilian company AEGEA Saneamento e Participacoes (Grupo Equipav) was awarded the 35-year concession contract to expand, rehabilitate and operate the water and sewerage facilities of Bombinhas, located at the state of Santa Catarina. The contract was awarded by the municipality, and the investments were expected to benefit around 28,486 people. The bidding criteria was a combination of technical criteria and the lowest tariff. Three other bidders took part in the process, but the names were not available. The contract was signed in August 2016, and the private sponsor took over the operations of the water and sewerage services in September 2016. The special purpose company Aguas de Bombinhas was set to lead the project. The total investment in the project was estimated at US$ 42.5 million (BRL 135 million). |
