Description | In April 2005, the Brazilian company Dix Empreendimentos Ltda, subsidiary of Agemar group, was awarded in a competitive bidding process the contract to build, rehabilitate and operate the airport located at the city of Bonito (state of Mato Grosso). Three other companies presented offers on the bidding process, but additional information on these companies was not available. In addition, information on the bidding criteria set by the regulatory agency was also not available. The 13-year contract was signed with the regulatory agency in October 2006, when the sponsors took over the operations of the facilities. The project company committed to invest US$ 0.8 million (BRL 1.7 million) in the construction of a new passenger terminal with capacity of 240 thousand passengers per year. Construction works were concluded in 2009. |
