Description | The Boone Theater in Kansas City's 18th and Vine Historic Jazz District underwent a long restoration process as part of an $8.7 million redevelopment effort to return the nearly century-old structure to active use. The theater, originally opened in 1924 and later renamed for pianist John “Blind” Boone, was largely inactive for decades and showed significant deterioration. The restoration included reconfiguring the space to serve as a multi-use venue for films, live performances, private events, and professional office space. The reopening event is scheduled for May 1, 2026, with a ribbon cutting and public open house. |
