Description
Description | Europe has long been a centre of excellence for high-quality healthcare and still has the potential to be a global hub for research and development in health. What is needed for that, is to build up a long-term, collaborative, interregional ecosystem that supports and incentivises R&D and stable long-term partnerships. The I3HIES project will focus on health innovation ecosystems to achieve the desired efficacy of the healthcare sector and will boost and sustain efficient international collaboration of the relevant quadruple helix innovation actors. The 9 partners (from Hungary, Austria, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia) will specially focus on 3 thematic focus areas: medical devices, emergency equipment and MDR compliance. In details, the partners will accelerate the development of validated innovation investments in the thematic focus areas of the project and enhance interregional cooperation and participation in EU value chains. They will first jointly foster the innovation process itself: They will support innovation actors in the fuzzy front end of innovation, by assisting them in identification of innovation potentials, increasing their capacity and enhancing networking, collaboration and co-creation through a series of ideation support events. Moreover, the partners will mentor the design of business cases, by validating business ideas, tutoring the elaboration of mini business cases and validating them, as well as increasing their investment readiness and ultimately prepare them for funding. On the other hand, the partners will strengthen both the regional and the interregional ecosystem by outlining and positioning the I3HIES Community, benchmarking its actors and creating tailored service selling points for them as well as by addressing ecosystem challenges in interactive peer reviews, fostering policy and S3 strategy development, intra- and interregional stakeholder collaboration and developing joint partnerships and common projects. |
