OFELIA (Open Innovation for Functional Foods and Medicinal Aromatic Plants) empowers less developed regions (LDRs) through digital transition and interregional collaboration, bridging gaps with more developed regions (MDRs). Focused on the functional foods and medicinal aromatic plants (FFMAP) value chain, OFELIA enhances traceability, optimises production, and fosters innovation diffusion and knowledge transfer. The project’s strong consortium delivers targeted interventions, including piloting advanced digital tools, offering Financial Support to Third Parties, and building capacity through tailored training programs. Through the OFELIA Hub—a one-stop digital platform—the project accelerates commercialization, creates new value chains, and integrates LDR-based SMEs into competitive markets. Aligned with the EU’s twin digital and green transitions, OFELIA addresses critical bottlenecks, promotes sustainability, and drives inclusive growth, contributing to regional cohesion and global competitiveness.
