Description

Description

The objective of SHOOTER is to equip European Basketball Federations with digital tools & skills to make their management more professional, efficient & environmentally sustainable. SHOOTER offers a new Management System based on a comprehensive and holistic Digital Toolbox in which basketball federations can pick those elements better matching their needs, considering their own digital maturity level & the digital pathway that they have already transited until today. By doing so, the federations will undertake a holistic process with digital technology as the motor of change, embracing key aspects of any sport’s federation management (competition, referees and scoresheets) & transiting from a traditional way of daily management to an upgraded scenario in which the use of digital tools improves their governance (management) bringing more transparency and increasing their ability to engage in a different way with most relevant stakeholders. On top of that, SHOOTER will explore the use of AI to increase the ability of the federations to take better decisions, and deliver a Portal for anyone that want to organise a basketball competition. The project is led by the Catalan Basketball Federation in partnership with the federations from Ireland, Bulgaria & Kosovo. The SME Optimal Way is the technological partner leading the digital transformation of the federations. By improving the way they are managed, the project will impact over 867 clubs, around 3,704 weekly matches, more than 100,000 players, 7,100 coaches & 1,610 referees. Besides, the partnership will conduct research about the future trends of digital technologies applied to sports, complemented by an International Forum of experts discussing about this topic. SHOOTER is aligned with the E+ Sport priority ‘Addressing digital transformation through development of digital readiness, resilience & capacity’ while contributing as well to the good governance.
