Description
Description | Design and Construction: This project adds protected cycling facilities along a 390m section of Booth Street to provide cyclists with direct connectivity to the Pimisi LRT station. This design will also provide access from the Chaudière interprovincial crossing to the East West Bikeway, a key cycling link through Ottawa’s downtown. The facility will feature a single direction raised bike track on each side of the roadway, and will run behind transit waiting areas near the station to minimize pedestrian/cycling conflicts. Additional works may include but not necessarily be limited to connections between pedestrian/cycling locations and transit system locations. An example may be supporting 40-foot diesel bus acquisition in relation to routes in the proximity of the Booth St area to aid pedestrian and cycling traffic connectivity to the bus network. The expanded project activities are intended to further the City’s ability to advance safer community active transportation / transit priorities by leveraging the remaining program funding allocation as much as possible. |
