Description

This project consists of the development and construction of 116 MW of onshore wind-energy capacity in Türkiye, with sites located in Sivas and Tekirdag. The initiative includes the implementation of the 80 MW Pelit Wind Power Plant (RES) and a 36 MW capacity expansion at the Balabanli RES. Once operational, these projects will generate approximately 382 GWh of renewable energy annually, contributing to a reduction of 243,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. The sponsor for this initiative is Borusan EnBW Enerji, a leading renewable energy company in Türkiye and a joint venture between Borusan Holding and Germany’s EnBW AG. The total project financing amounts to $152.3 million, secured from a consortium of lenders including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Akbank, Türkiye Is Bankasi, and the Industrial Development Bank of Turkey (TSKB). Of this, the EBRD is providing $60 million (€55 million).
