Description
Description | Botala's Serowe Gas Project is a coal-bed methane project in Botswana aimed at diversifying the country's energy sources away from coal. The project has an independently verified 2C contingent gas resource of 454 billion cubic feet, which could supply Botswana's gas power plant for two decades. The project is progressing from planning to execution, with drilling of pilot wells underway and commercial viability confirmed through testing. The project holds a 10-year mining license and a binding Letter of Intent for offtake covering up to 3.5 petajoules per year, targeting first LNG production in 2027. Challenges include securing additional funding and completing a bankable feasibility study. |
