The new bridge is a vital part of the £231m Network Rail project to upgrade Oxford railway station, including a new platform and a new western entrance. The bridge will accommodate new track for rail services including East West Rail trains and is expected to include an upgraded flood defence system. The three 'boxes' for the southern abutment are being constructed near their final location, ready for installation in February 2026 when the existing bridge will be demolished and replaced while trains are not running. |
