Botswana - North-Eastern Water Developpement Study

The study will be divided into two phases: Phase 1 - Preliminary Studies ------------------- Projections of water demand ---------------------------- (a) Francistown : The consultant shall asseas the current projections of water demand for Francistown and forecast the effects of a decision to locate "Wet" industries there. (b) Mining Projects : Estimates of water demand associated with --------------- possible new mines should be made with assumptions as to the techniques and scale of mining operations clearly stated. (c) Rural Requirements : Rural Water requirements capable of being ------------------ economically served from proposed water sources and transfer systems ------------ should be identified. Phase 2. Project Feasibility studies --------------------------- A. Both accelerated and decelorated population growth of Francistown. B. Extension of water borne sewerage to low income areas. C. A rephasing of the proposed mining project at selkirk-Pheonix.
