Botswana Mining Diversification Partnerships with Gulf and Europe

under development

Botswana is expanding its mining sector by forming strategic partnerships with Gulf and European entities to diversify its economy away from diamond dependency. The partnerships focus on exploration, development, and technology transfer in critical minerals such as uranium, copper, manganese, and others. Key collaborations include the Botswana Geo-Science Institute with Minerals Development Oman, a $12 billion investment agreement with Qatar's Al Mansour Holdings, and uranium exploration permits with French company Orano. These initiatives aim to develop new mining projects, enhance technological capabilities, and integrate Botswana into global supply chains for energy transition materials.
