Boulder City Data Center Project

planned

A data center project initially proposed to be built on city land in Boulder City, Nevada, was shifted to federal land owned by the Bureau of Land Management. The project involves a Houston-based developer who pulled its application to lease city land and instead gained right-of-way approval from the federal government to build on adjacent federal land. The project has raised concerns about public consultation, environmental impacts such as water and energy use, and community input. The Boulder City Council is considering filing an official appeal to the Bureau of Land Management due to loss of city revenue and lack of public engagement.
