Close to holidays and excursions have increased significantly in recent years, partly due to corona. Landscape tourism across borders can offer benefits. By increasing landscape quality and protecting the most vulnerable nature, sustainable tourism can be stimulated. Green connects – improvement of landscape quality between Maastricht and Eindhoven. Boundless Landscape Tourism wants to further develop the green outdoor area between Maastricht and Eindhoven – with natural areas such as the River Park Maasvallei and the GrensPark Kempen-Broek – starting from the strength of the area itself. The project focuses on facilitating and improving movements across borders such as cycling and walking. This allows visitors to taste ‘the other side’ of subtle and less-subtle natural and cultural differences. In addition, communicating about the assets of the border region will increase its experience and enhance landscape quality thanks to sustainable investments in a number of places where residents and visitors meet.
