BPCL 9 MMTPA Greenfield Refinery and Petrochemical Complex

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) is proposing to set up a 9 million metric tons per annum (MMTPA) Greenfield Refinery and Petrochemical Complex at Chevuru Village, Gudlur Mandal, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh. The project has a cost of ₹1.03 lakh crore and a completion schedule of 42 months. It will generate employment for 3,400 people during the construction phase and 3,750 during the operational phase. The project requires 2,109.62 hectares of land, with 703.34 hectares to be developed as greenbelt. The total power requirement is 600 MW, with 100 MW generated in-house and 500 MW from the State Grid. The project has received clearance to draft Terms of Reference (ToR) and will undergo Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) studies.
