BP's Kaskida project is an ultra-deepwater drilling development in the Gulf of Mexico requiring advanced high-pressure high-temperature technology. The project involves a new platform scheduled to begin operations in 2029, representing BP's sixth platform in the U.S. Gulf region with an initial production target of tens of thousands of barrels per day. The project was found two decades ago but only recently became feasible due to technological advancements. A related project named Tiber is also being prepared using engineering work from Kaskida.
