Brackley Commons Solar Project

The project consists of the installation of pitched roof solar panels, inverter, optimizer and racking on the roof of the Brackley Commons which is the community gathering spot and recreational facility for the Rural Municipality of Brackley. The project will generate 13,670kWh/yr of electricity which is 109% of electricity required by the Commons. The purpose of the change the existing electricity supply from traditional fossil fuels to clean solar energy. In addition to being aligned with the PEI’s Net Zero goal, installation of the solar panels will achieve a break-even point by year 7 and following year 7 will result in an approximate savings of $88,000 over the next 23 years. These savings can be reinvested into the community for other clean energy and recreational projects.
