Created by Decree No. 241, of November 29, 1961, the Brasília National Park has a total area of approximately 42,300 hectares and is located in the Federal District. The main attractions of the Brasília National Park are the Areal and Pedreira swimming pools, supplied by water from springs located inside the UC or in its vicinity, a condition that allows the water to be constantly renewed, and provides the user with the opportunity for recreation in direct contact with nature. The Park also has two trails: the Capivara Trail, 1.3 km long, with a duration of 20 minutes, and the Cristal Trail, 15 km long, where the use of bicycles is permitted, and allows visitor can observe the fauna and flora of the Cerrado, as well as access an island in this UC, called Meditation Island, recommended for bird watching. The structuring of the project was the responsibility of BNDES, which hired the Uirapuru Consórcio to carry out technical, economic and legal feasibility studies. For more information, click here. Decree No. 10,447, of August 7, 2020 – Provides for the qualification of the conservation units Brasília National Park, located in the Federal District, and São Joaquim National Park, located in the State of Santa Catarina, within the scope of the Partnership Program for Investments by the Presidency of the Republic and their inclusion in the National Privatization Program.
