Description

Description

General objective of the Break for Health project is to encourage healthy lifestyles and physical activity for all, including people with fewer opportunities by utilising the half-time breaks at football matches to provide inspiring educational insights on healthy lifestyles and EU values and knowledge on EU, as well as inclusive and creative football-related games, thus harnessing fan energy and power of football to engage children and adults from diverse backgrounds. Project main target group are children, adults, women and mothers, including people with fewer opportunities (Roma; people with lower incomes and living standards who face economic barriers; people from smaller and remote settlements with no developed sports infrastructure who face geographical barriers); football players and coaches; participating organisations; local communities of the project partners; football associations and federations from the partner countries. At least 500 people will benefit from the B4H project. At the heart of the project is use the huge untapped potential to utilise half-time breaks of football matches to promote important social issues like healthy lifestyle and physical activity. Through the collaboration and experience of two football clubs from Bulgaria (FC Apolona Pontika) and Greece (Musical Gymnastics Club of Panserraikos) and the Romanian Federation Sport for All (FRSPT), the project will develop a Break for Health programme to be implemented during the half-time breaks of football matches. This programme will provide all supporters in the stadium (children, adults from different backgrounds, including people with fewer opportunities) with inspiring educational elements on healthy lifestyles (healthy diet, daily physical activity, etc.) and on EU values and issues, as well as inclusive and creative football-related games. The project will thus demonstrate an innovative approach to raising awareness of the importance and practice of healthy lifestyles and HEPA.
