Description | Demolition has begun on the easternmost portion of Longworth Hall, a former railroad freight warehouse, as a key step toward constructing a new bridge connecting Covington and Cincinnati. The Ohio Department of Transportation plans to restore and preserve the historic structure, including rebuilding the eastern wall using preserved historic bricks. Improvements will also be made to the entire building, such as cleaning bricks and improving windows. The demolition and rebuilding process is expected to take a few months and is the last major obstacle before construction can begin, with progress expected later in the spring and throughout the year. |
