Description | The project involves the construction of two 3 MW biogas power plants in the Brest and Grodno regions of Belarus. They are expected to generate about 23.6 GWh of green energy annually and reduce the country’s annual CO2 emissions by more than 9,000 tonnes. The biogas will be produced by processing biodegradable materials generated by stock-raising farm complexes located in the region. The generated energy will be supplied to the Belarusian power grid operator Belenergo, EBRD is prividing $ 11.3 million to unnamed 2 SPVs established by Modus Group (Lithuania). Sorainen is advising the bank. Financial close was announced on 4 March 2019.
