Description

Description

The project will finance the rehabilitation of reinforced concrete bridges and prestressed concrete bridges on priority traffic axes as an open program in the provinces of Centre, Ouest and Littoral. The measures include construction services and construction monitoring by a consultant. The Bridge Rehabilitation IV module in Cameroon is an open FC program that represents the final phase of several FC-funded programs in the former focus area of road traffic in Cameroon. This supported an open program of the Cameroonian government to rehabilitate a large number of viaducts and bridges. This is part of the Cameroonian sector strategy from 2005-2030. There is no development cooperation program. A functioning road network plays a central role in the development of Cameroon because it helps to open up areas and is therefore an essential basis for mobility. It enables access to markets and social infrastructure such as healthcare and education. The exchange of goods, services and people promotes economic growth and the regional integration of the country. The aim of the Bridge Rehabilitation IV program in Cameroon is to maintain timely and cost-effective traffic flow in the regions served by the transport axes. The module complements the completed Federal Development Cooperation programs Bridge Rehabilitation I-III in Cameroon (Phase I with BMZ No. 1998 66 849, Phase II with BMZ No. 2000 65 409 and Phase III with BMZ No. 2002 65 439).
