This project, a collaborative town twinning initiative between Għajnsielem, Malta and Loreto, Italy, aims to strengthen social cohesion and civic engagement by leveraging shared cultural and religious heritage. The three main objectives of the project are: 1. Addressing a Decline in Civic Engagement and Re-engaging Youth in Civic Life: The project seeks to counteract the declining participation in civic life, particularly among youth, by involving them in community activities, cultural exchanges, and discussions on active citizenship. 2. Preserve and Promote Cultural and Religious Heritage: By focusing on the shared religious heritage, especially the veneration of the Madonna di Loreto, the project aims to preserve and promote the rich cultural and religious traditions of both towns, ensuring that these continue to be valued and passed on to future generations. 3. Foster an Increase in Interfaith Dialogue and Inclusivity: The project promotes interfaith dialogue and inclusivity, creating a platform for diverse communities to engage in meaningful conversations that build mutual respect and understanding, ultimately fostering a more inclusive society. Through workshops, cultural exchanges, and joint initiatives, the project aspires to create a lasting impact on both communities, encouraging active participation, preserving heritage, and promoting unity in diversity.
