This project proposal builds on the successes and ongoing operations of the Norwegian National Coordination Centre for research and innovation on Cybersecurity (NCC-NO). It has as its main objective the strengthening of the Norwegian - and thus also the European – digital infrastructure through support of innovation activities and communities targeting critical national and European cybersecurity challenges. As a means to strengthen the mission of NCC-NO and address the call objectives, BIFROST sets three key priorities: a) securing critical digital infrastructures; b) facilitate the implementation of the new EU directives and regulations and to address cybersecurity compliance challenges in Norway; c) addressing and reducing identified competence and capacity gaps within the broader domain of cybersecurity roles and skills. All these targeted actions are conscious responses to identified fragilities of the technological, economic and cyberthreat landscape in Norway, and they will contribute to building a stronger European cybersecurity community, to be leveraged for Europe’s goal of achieving technological sovereignty, digital resilience and a competitive economy for all Member States and Associated Countries.
