Description | The Brigalow Peaking Power Plant is a proposed 400-megawatt fast-start gas-fired power station intended to provide dispatchable firming capacity during peak electricity demand periods. It will be located next to the existing Kogan Creek Power Station in the Western Downs, Queensland, and is designed to support the integration of variable renewable generation in the National Electricity Market. The plant will use multiple aeroderivative gas turbines to enable rapid start and ramp-up, fueled by natural gas transported via a new 21-kilometre lateral pipeline connecting to APA's existing Roma–Brisbane Pipeline. |
