The Cleveland Browns are planning to build a $2.4 billion enclosed stadium in Brook Park, Ohio, which will be the centerpiece of a mixed-use entertainment district. The project includes the purchase of a 176-acre former Ford Motor Co. plant site and aims to break ground in early 2026. The stadium is intended to replace the existing Downtown Cleveland stadium, with the team's lease ending in early 2029. The project is contingent on securing state funding, with competing proposals including a $600 million cash grant from unclaimed funds, state-issued bonds, or increased sports-betting taxes. The Browns are also seeking local funding through bonds and tax increases, though some local officials have rejected these proposals. The Haslam Sports Group is committed to the project and is looking for public entities to assist with financing, with the remainder of the funding to be privately sourced.
