Description | The Brookings City Council approved a contract with HP Civil for wastewater treatment plant improvements as part of a larger $30.2 million project to upgrade the city's wastewater system. The project includes replacement of the UV system, installation of a new pump station to allow gravity flow from the north end of town, upgrades to the sewer collection system to support future growth and repair, and lining existing sewer pipes to address inflow and infiltration issues. The project is funded by a $24.9 million loan and a $2.5 million grant from the USDA Rural Development, along with a $2.6 million city contribution. |
