Bruce C Nuclear Expansion Project

The Bruce C Project proposes to add 4,800 MW of new nuclear generating capacity by adding four new reactors, which will operate for the next 60-100 years. The project is currently in the planning phase, including the completion of the Impact Assessment covering population growth, demand on services and infrastructure, and workforce pressures. Bruce Power has provided capacity funding to support municipal involvement in the Impact Assessment Process. The project is the first nuclear project to go through the new federal Integrated Impact Assessment Process, which was temporarily put on hold for further engagement with Saugeen Ojibway Nation. Bruce County has hired a dedicated project coordinator to support the expansion project and coordinate with municipalities and Bruce Power.
