Description

Description

The Bruce C facility is a proposed 4,800 megawatt (MW) nuclear generating station at the Bruce Power site in Kincardine, Ontario. The project involves construction of a new nuclear generating station that would make the Bruce site the largest nuclear generating facility in the world and provide enough electricity to power 4.8 million homes. The Ontario government has entered a cost-sharing agreement worth up to $300 million to advance the construction, including pre-construction and site preparation planning, workforce planning, and engagement with First Nations and the wider community. Preparatory work is expected to be complete by 2030, paving the way for construction. The project still requires federal approvals, including a federal Impact Assessment expected to be completed in 2028 and a site preparation licence from the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
