Description

Description

The 7th edition of the Brussels International Film Festival (BRIFF) will organize 9 days dedicated to cinema and will be open to the public, the young generation and professionals. BRIFF will take place in several emblematic places located in the heart of the European capital of Brussels: Bozar, UGC de Brouckere, Cinemas Palace and Galeries. These places offer an advantage: they complement each other regarding their acquired audience but also regarding their usual programme. In addition, an ephemeral place seen as the true Village of the festival will host concerts, the festival's festive axis, as well as an important professional component. Quality, diversity and discovery are the key words of the festival's line-up. The programme includes an international competition, a competition dedicated to the emerging generation of European authors (The Directors’Week competition), a national competition, tributes to some great names in cinema, numerous workshops, Master Classes, gala evenings, etc. Regarding the young audiences: a whole section of the programme will be dedicated to them as well as a series of participatory workshops that our teams and partners have been mastering for years. The lines of work of the workshops: learning how to read images and opening up one's inematographic universe to European cinema. We encourage networking and new collaborations by inviting professionals to BRIFF that will be given the opportunity to participate in the European co-production Market as well as in workshops set up specifically for them.
