BUBBLEU - We belong to Europe

2026-07-22

Our project, “BUBBLEU” presents successful twinning with our partners which was a good path toward the European Diploma, awarded in 2018, and the European Flag of Honor, awarded to our municipality by the Council of Europe in 2019. The project uses new methods, attempts to approach all the age groups and parts of society, especially the young and the disadvantaged, with the aim to understand each other’s societal and political problems, to discuss future of the EU. The main aim is to support democracy, cooperation, volunteers, common values in a changing Europe by active local and regional participation on national and supranational level. Besides of implementing the actual priorities, the event involved cultural and gastronomic topics during the 2-day project. We want that our community and citizens of our twin partners understand the positive aspects of the EU, to teach them to participate in the decision-making process and to widely utilize the tools in the future. Important element of our project is to expand the knowledge about the EU, to disperse the scepticism about the future of the EU, to support the communication among the generations and nations and to enhance tolerance in a long-term. A special feature of the project every year is the production of a splash, which, due to its quantity, is entered in the Slovak record book. Information about the project will be shared on WebPage of the event and partners’, in and national press and in the electronic media. Posters, leaflets, video interviews are made with participants, we ask their opinions about democracy, migration and tolerance by the use of questionnaires. The project will be attended by 150 visitors from HU (2 project partners), 35 from RO, 35 form CZ and a new project partner is a Berlin-based NGO, from which we are expecting 10 participants. Together with citizens from Slovakia there will be 1 274 European citizens directly involved to the project. Indirectly project affects up to 10 000 people.
