Description
Description | The project includes the expansion of an existing road and maintenance for a 21-year period. The construction works, which started in 1993, were completed in Jan. 1999. Financial closure for the US$ 330 million invested until 1998 was achieved as follows: of the US$ 330 million, 52.5% was provided by the provincial government, 33% was raised from toll revenues and 14.5% was provided by the consortium. The annual average flow of vehicles is 2.5 million. The project's sponsors include ACS Group (under their subsidiary Dragados Group's Dycasa), Benito Roggio e Hijos S.A., Construcciones Civiles J.M. Aragon S.A., and Esuco S.A. In 2006 the provincial government requested to terminate the concession contract indicating the concessionaire's inability to finance required work. In 2011, the provincial government created the "Corredor Vial Integrado del Atlantico" that includes the Ruta Provincial Nº2 (the present concession, project ID 881) and the Rutas Provinciales Nº 11 (project ID 3179), Nº 36, Nº 56, Nº 63 and Nº 74. The whole corridor was transferred to a single new Concessionaire Autovia del Mar (project ID 7580) in June 2011. Covisur remained with only Dolores-Mar del Plata section (Maipur toll) of Ruta Provincial Nº2 till 2016. |
