BUFF Children and Youth Film Festivals 2026 and 2027

BUFF, the International Children and Young People’s Film Festival in Malmö, was founded in 1984 and is a non-profit organization. The aim was, and still is, to screen good films for children and young people as well as adults. BUFF is a meeting point for young people, for people working with children and film, and for the art of film. The festival strives to bring to its audience more influences from Europe and the rest of the world by showing films that might never be screened for these audiences otherwise. In the cinema, we get to meet different cultures, hear foreign languages and tag along on endless adventures. BUFF considers children and young people to be the most exciting resource we’ve got, our future, and they deserve the best. This application concerns the two upcoming editions of BUFF, 2026 and 2027. These years we will continue screening a diverse and primarily European film program for young audiences in the region, and in parallel further establish our initiative where a selection of the festival films is made available for audiences throughout the country. We will also continue our focus on joining professionals from different fields working with film and culture for young audiences, nationally as well as internationally.
