Build Canada Homes Modular Housing Project

planned

Build Canada Homes is a federal agency planning to build modular homes in Canada to address the housing crisis. The project includes building 540 modular homes in Toronto's Downsview neighbourhood as part of a larger plan to add 4,000 factory-built homes on six federally owned sites, with potential for more. Modular homes are built in sections in factories and assembled on site, offering faster construction times and potential cost savings. The project aims to partner with private developers and non-profits to catalyze the modular housing industry and increase housing affordability.
