Description
Description | Build Canada Homes (BCH) is a new federal entity launched to accelerate the construction of affordable housing across Canada. It aims to build affordable housing at scale, including transitional housing, community housing, and multi-unit affordable housing, excluding detached single-family homes. BCH will partner with Canada Lands Company to develop six sites across the country to build 4,000 factory-built homes on federal lands, with potential for up to 45,000 additional units. It will also partner with Nunavut Housing Corporation to build over 700 affordable housing units in the North. The initiative prioritizes cost-efficient and modern construction methods such as factory build, modular, and mass timber. |
