Building a Lifelong Learning Community in Flanders

The main objective of the Flemish NCAL-project 2022-2023 is to inspire, strengthen, support and spread the word about the Flemish LLL community on its path to a true Flemish Learning Community (Vlaamse Leer-Gemeenschap). In order to achieve this we will feed and optimize the website Lang Leven Leren and invite pioneers to share stepping stones towards a futureproof learning community where everybody can live, learn and work 'with joy'. We will investigate how to reinforce the learning community by creating time and space for reflexive monitoring, peer learning and co-creation. We will organize study visits to learn from countries that perform well in lifelong learning policy and results. We will organize meeting days to build and strengthen the lifelong learning community in Flanders, to meet, share, exchange and learn from each other. We will support a dialogue day from the Flemish Lifelong Learning partnership to discuss/analyse chosen themes/actions out of the PLL action plan and get inspiration for the future out of (inter)national cases. We will prepare for an international LLL conference 'with impact' in Flanders in cooperation with Visit Flanders. We will support Erasmus+ NA Epos in achieving its strategic objective to install a lifelong learning mentality through internationalisation. We will support the implementation of Upskilling Pathways by taking forward specific actions in the Flemish UP Plan, Edusprong (the Flemish Plan to reinforce formal adult education), and the Flemish Literacy Plan. We will seek synergy with EPALE and engage with local learning centres to promote the importance of life skills, more specifically with Ligo, the Flemish Network for basic adult education and other adult learning stakeholders. To promote the NCAL-project we will make up a communication plan. To strenghten the NC-network we will participate in up to 3 meetings and peer learning activities per year organised by EACEA, the Commission or another national coordinator.
