Description
Description | The aim of this package with a broad European scope (10 high quality award-winning books from 10 countries and written in less used languages) is to help literary diversity in Bulgaria. The books are united by the message of the need to connect across generations. Within each new generation is the spark of rebellion, of non-acceptance, of opposition to the old generation. This can be seen not only up close (in the family, the disagreements between children and parents, the clash of worldviews and values) but also in a broader perspective (in society). The younger generation rejects the values of the past and counterposes them with their vision of the world. The problem is not biological but socio-cultural. It has to do with the rejection of continuity and the destruction of tradition, and therefore the destruction of culture. But culture and society can develop only on the basis of tradition. This is the basic message of the books in the project. Their authors affirm mutual respect, understanding and, above all, equality and non-discrimination, both between generations and between the sexes and all members of society. By describing different human lives and eras, the writers show how bridges of mutual understanding and a desire to move forward should be created between generations. Majlinda Bregasi says this very clearly through the story of three women from three generations. Peter Karoshi talks about building a strong bond between father and son, which can be used to preserve a family. Maria Turtschaninoff warns how generation after generation people are destroying the relationship with nature. In the language of literature, Olivera Nikolova, Lucie Faulerová, Ivan Andrusiak, Bart Moeyaert, Øyvind Torseter, Makis Tsitas and Anna Woltz also tell us that we should not destroy but create bridges between generations, because our future depends on it. |
