Description
Description | "The project ""Building Bridges"" is an innovative, trans-national initiative designed to empower and engage young people from diverse geographic and cultural backgrounds. The primary focus of this project is on developing critical skills such as critical thinking, public speaking, intercultural understanding, and campaigning through a comprehensive eLearning program and facilitated virtual exchanges. The project aims to promote a deeper understanding of and active participation in achieving the European Youth Goals and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), making significant progress towards fostering global citizenship among youth. In an increasingly interconnected world, there is a pressing need to equip young people with the skills and understanding necessary to tackle global challenges. ""Building Bridges"" addresses this need by providing accessible educational opportunities through digital platforms. This approach not only transcends geographical and socio-economic barriers but also enhances participants' ability to engage in meaningful cultural exchanges. The project encompasses the following main activities: - Creating an eLearning program covering European Youth Goals and essential soft skills like critical thinking, public speaking, and campaigning. This program will be developed in six languages: English, Romanian, Italian, Greek, Somali, Arabic and Swahili, ensuring wide accessibility and inclusivity. - Training 30 youth workers from seven partner countries—Somalia, Italy, Cyprus, Romania, Kenya and Tanzania—to facilitate virtual exchanges. This training ensures that the youth workers are well-equipped to guide and support the young participants effectively. - Involving 1000 young people in virtual exchanges that enhance their intercultural understanding and provide them with a platform to explore and discuss global issues, thereby directly contributing to their growth as informed global citizens." |
