The overall B-CAP project concept is based on the experiences of model projects in Serbia and Moldova. The main objective of B-Cap was to establish a method regarding how smaller towns and villages in the regions of the Danube Area – such as Baile Herculane in Romania – can be enabled to restore architecturallyvaluable districts through qualification of previouslyunemployed youth and elderly by the use of different financing instruments. Another target was the development of touristic strategies for Baile Herculane. The START B-CAP project aimed at developing a concept and financing structure for a vocational centre for youth and elderly which offers training on historicallyadequate restoration. The project partners also established a concept for a tourism strategy in Baile Herculane to ensure the future use of the renovated buildings for touristic purposes.
