Description
Description | The VET4Digital project is designed to enhance the capacities of VET providers and learners, and advance the acquisition of digital skills and competencies among target groups in Rwanda (LMIC), Cameroon (LDC), Kenya (LMIC), and Tanzania (LDC). It aims to ensure the provision of skills most in demand in the labor market, assisting VET providers and stakeholders in enhancing their day-to-day operations through capacity building, skill development, and the facilitation of the transfer of best practices from the EU and globally to organizations engaged in VET and labour market in Sub-Saharan Africa. VET4Digital project aligns with the digital transformation goals of national (MIPs), regional (EU-Africa Global Gateway Investment Package), and global strategies (SDGs). The project targets VET institutions, teachers, curriculum designers, employers, university students, VET students, young professionals, and companies from the digital sector. It involves three organizations from Europe and five organizations from Sub- Saharan Africa and features a diversity of capacity-building, mobility, and OER-development activities, including online training courses, workshops, study visits, research and analysis, development of innovative VET teaching programs, preparation of an elearning platform, and work-based training. The project's objective is to render VET courses in digital skills development more aligned with labor market needs and relevance, to enhance the competencies, skills, and employability potential of VET students, and to address the needs of underrepresented and disadvantaged groups such as those from socio-economically challenged backgrounds, rural areas, persons with disabilities (PWDs), women and to ensure inclusivity regardless of gender, race, or disability status, etc. VET4Digital sets realistic goals to be achieved within 24 months by implementing capacity-building, best practice transfer, and awareness-raising activities. |
