Description

Description

The project aims to embed the contents of CofoE results and main suggestions included in the EU relevant policies and throughout, and throughout a series of transnational and national events aims to increase awareness about the connections between climate change, democracy, and civic participation. In addition, taking advantage of the tool of public consultation, it aims to collect EU society perception on these topics, with the ultimate goal of providing a set of recommendations, to be addressed to local, national and EU political stakeholders. The project foresees the implementation of a transnational survey, aimed to reach at least 450 people from at least 18 EU countries, taking advantage of WWF network and Europe Direct network. The survey will be the basis for the development of a set of key recommendations. Core part of the initiative is the provision of 5 Transnational events, lasting 3 days, and involving at least 30 participants each, which will analyse the following topics: - Circular economy - Biodiversity preservation - Renewable energy and community engagement - Adaptation measures and permacultures techniques - Sustainable urban development Following the transnational events, 4 national events (25 participants each) will be implemented to inspire and equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and motivation to actively engage in climate action at the civic level. The project is expected to reach the following short-term results - Increased awareness about the connections between climate change, democracy, and civic participation. - Increased engagement of stakeholders, such as representatives from local communities and NGOs in shaping policies and concrete actions to build a Green Resilient European Society - Enhanced perception on EU society opinions, attitudes, and behaviours related to climate change, democracy, and civic participation in different EU Member States
