Building European Towns

The project BET derives from the need of a renewed consciousness of giving to minor towns an European identity in terms of infrastructures and habitability. The initiative rises from the multiple insights and discussions with the twinned municipalities and organizations, that have in common the characteristics of being settled in a rural area, in both Italy and France. The project aims to contribuite, from a grassroots’ level, to enhance European provinces, with the discussion based on reimagining the villages in a sustainable way, without sacrificing the traditional aesthetics and soul of the places and guaranteeing an accessible and livable environment for all. During the implementation of the initiative BET, the participants will be informed on European programs such as the New European Bauhaus, the rationalle and the opportunities offered by the European Rural Vision and the Green Deal. The general objectives are: - reinventing and adapting this European identity to the towns, with a particular attention to the peculiar traditions and characteristics of every place - best-practices sharing: every partner of the project is asked to contribute in the discussion with the measures taken and the ones that could be implemented. - empowering the citizens by discussing European issues on a grassroot level - promoting the involvement of the local population by the direct involvement of individuals - promoting the dialogue between individuals and local public bodies - disseminating European initiatives such the New European Bauhaus, Green Deal and Rural Vision
