Description

Description

EUJS is the pluralistic and inclusive umbrella organization of national Jewish student unions in Europe. With the proposed project, we aim to increase the impact and capacity of our network in developing coherent and coordinated activities along a strategic plan structured on 5 pillars: Empowering Jewish Students, Celebrating Jewish Identity and Diversity, Tackling Antisemitism and educating about the Holocaust, Promoting equality and combating racism - a key to a democratic Europe and Promoting Human Rights around the World. Given our particular profile as a Jewish and youth organization, we focus especially on mitigating the effects of antisemitism on young Jewish Europeans and empower them to bring about a more equal and inclusive Europe for all. The project feeds into the implementation and development of supported policy initiatives and responds to data showing young Jews are much more likely to become victims of antisemitism than other age groups. Our primary target audience are young Jewish Europeans. Additionally, we engage with a broad range of stakeholders: EU and national policy-makers, Jewish communities, CSOs, and European society as a whole. We organize seminars to foster civic engagement; educate about rights, policy-making processes and EU mechanisms. We build the capacity needed for our member unions -the motors of Jewish renewal in 25 EU member states - to thrive. We provide young Jewish students with victim support. We provide students - Jewish and non-Jewish - with the tools to transmit the memory of the Holocaust to a new generation. Based on our core principle that Jewish rights are human rights and vice versa, we stand up for democratic values and Human Rights worldwide. By combatting antisemitism, racism and all forms of intolerance, promoting the memory of the Holocaust, educating about human rights increasing democratic participation and interfaith and intercultural exchanges, we will make a tangible contribution to CERV program priorities.
