BUILDing Inclusive Learning Societies

This proposal will strengthen the capacity of SOLIDAR Foundation (SF) and its 50 members organisations (MOs) to contribute to BUILDing Inclusive Learning Societies by fostering the role of non-formal education. SF will achieve this by: a)Engaging in policymaking using an evidence-informed approach, supported by coalition-building efforts; b)Implementing capacity-building activities that address the needs of our MOs on key priorities; c) Professionally disseminating results and opportunities in compelling and accessible formats. The workplan aligns with the policy priorities for Education and Training and aims to support civil society and non-formal education actors in engaging with and implementing relevant initiatives in the frame of the Union of Skills (UoS) and the European Education Area (EEA). In particular, in 2026 and 2027 we will focus on how to create enabling learning environments, notably to foster the acquisition of Basic Skills (citizenship and digital) and Key Competences for Lifelong Learning. This work will build upon the strong evidence-driven policy work on Global Citizenship Education supported by the E+ CSC OG, and the results of EU-funded projects. Our MOs, present in 21 E+ eligible countries, provide quality lifelong learning and vocational education and training (VET) opportunities through citizenship, popular, and workers’ education. They deliver key competences that support social inclusion for learners of all ages, focusing on those from vulnerable backgrounds. Expected outputs: a) Strengthened organisational capacity of SOLIDAR Foundation; b) Increased awareness of the EEA, UoS, and DEAP; c) Increased stakeholder commitment and cooperation with public authorities; d) Enhanced stakeholder participation in education and training; e) Increased involvement of stakeholders and civil society in disseminating policy and program actions; f) Promoted active engagement in civil society and greater awareness of the EU’s common principles and values.
