Description

Description

The project’s objective is to contribute to the call’s priorities and to continue the development of a resilient and sustainable civil society sector in Bulgaria through financial support and capacity building of small, under-resourced and underdeveloped independent local and national grassroots CSOs whose mission and activities are aimed at enhancing gender equality, advocating for vulnerable groups' rights, and upholding the rule of law while championing EU values. BIRDS in BG - 2 offers integrated action of capacity building and financial support to third parties which are designed as interconnected strands that boost one another. The capacity building efforts of the project will provide a needs-based approach and flexible forms of learning to up to 200 CSOs and their representatives through comprehensive training programs, Helpdesk, networking possibilities, learning sessions and accompaniment, community of practice (CoP), that will allow for individual access to expertise and mentorship based on specific needs of the organisations. The project will provide flexible, multi-annual, low-threshold, trust-based funding complemented with support, monitoring, evaluation and learning mechanisms in the process of project preparation, implementation, and reporting. The regranting strand of the project will distribute 4 000 000 EUR to more than 92 CSOs and their projects implemented in Bulgaria. Funded projects will be in the range of 10 000 EUR to 60 000 EUR, depending on the scope of intervention. 300 000 people will benefit directly from the supported third-party projects, while approximately 2 000 000 people will benefit indirectly.
