The Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) Enabler project will develop a user friendly platform that integrates product, regulation, technical, economic and construction data to create a leading Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) solution.Key resultsThe Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) Enabler project developed a design tool to optimise BIPV design in the conceptual design stage.The BIPV Enabler tool contains a product database with 136 important product attributes in 13 categories (e.g., cost, module information, integration method, maintenance, warranty)Platform users complete six steps (e.g., building type and location, building modelling and simulation, product selection, placement etc.) to enable BIPV products and studies to be applied in the real building market as easily as possible.The tool is free to use from June 2022 to June 2023 for feedback. From June 2023, the tool will be fully commercialised.
