Description
Description | BRING-In is as a ground-breaking initiative aimed at making Intersex People (IP) more visible by targeting the Social & Healthcare (S&H) sector, where existing knowledge & awareness about Intersex Equality (IE) is very limited. The overall objective is to promote IE in Greece, Hungary, UK & Bulgaria by educating S&H professionals on how to recognise, prevent & combat Intersex Discrimination (ID), while raising public awareness & advocating for the need to act upon the Human Rights (HR) violations IP face. To work is structured around 4 WPs, where WP1 is dedicated to project management & coordination. WP2 is the cornerstone of the project as it involves all ground work via multi-component research. WP3 will give flesh into the work of WP2 through: a) the set-up of an Online Learning Research Platform on IR; and in turn b) the implementation of the training curriculum on IR for S&H staff, incl. a ToT. WP4 is dedicated to dissemination via: a) General dissemination activities; b) Public awareness social media campaign; c) Advocacy activities. Main expected achievements: -Highlight of the existing needs and challenges of IP through the state-of-the-art research in all 4 participating countries (150 intersex people or their families/ intersex rights defenders / stakeholders interviewed, 400 professionals/ people surveyed, 5 policy briefs, 30 advocacy meetings). -Development and implementation of a capacity building programme aiming to prevent & combat ID in the S&H sector (13-15 trained Trainers, 240 trained professionals). -Creation of sustainable mechanisms promoting networking, exchange of relevant information and access to specialised resources for professionals of the S&H sector (development of an Online Learning Resources Platform on intersex equality with 500 users – 2500 visitors) -Design and implementation of a dedicated awareness raising campaign, targeting professionals, policy makers & the public about IE & the HR violations IP face (>8000 p. reached). |
