Description
Description | The FC measure is part of a regional project to support Syrian refugees and internally displaced persons who had to leave their home region as a result of armed conflicts and attacks, as well as the local population in the host countries, whose resources and infrastructure are particularly strained by the refugees. The FC measure serves to continue UNICEF activities as part of the No Lost Generation approach in Jordan. The individual measures contribute to improving access to formal schooling and to informal educational opportunities outside the school system for children and adolescents. In addition, there are child welfare measures and psychosocial opportunities for children and adults. EUR 10 million has already been pledged for this as part of the Strengthening Resilience in the Context of the Syria/Iraq Crisis I project (BMZ No. 2015 68 021) (see financing proposal dated May 26, 2015). The support for formal schooling will benefit at least 132,000 children of Syrian refugees; the informal education offers will benefit Syrian children who are currently excluded from formal education or are on the waiting list (a total of around 90,000 children; 11,000 within the framework of the current FC commitment). The child protection measures and psycho-social services to be financed will benefit a total of 36,650 children. |
